2011 20" Traditional Original Ride Cymbal

In 2016, the legendary former Pearl UK sales manager, drummer, raconteur and dear friend, Rou Holliday, just 7 weeks ahead of his 90th birthday, decided it was time to finally hang up his sticks.

His cherished Pearl DLX and other drums were to be sold.

His wonderful ride cymbal that was used on so many shows, was also made available - I had to have it.

The deal was done, and I joined Roy on February 7th, 2016 for another wonderful afternoon of tea, cake and tales from the industry and from his own life as a drummer. We had enjoyed many of these afternoons since I had been introduced to Roy in 2009 by Mark from Rusty Drums.

As I was leaving, we suddenly realised a picture was in order, and so as Roy so very kindly signed the Bosphorus, the moment was captured for posterity.

This cymbal is one that I will never let go, along with the many wonderful memories and mementoes of his so very kindly entrusted to me - Thank you Roy!.
