Slingerland Drums are back!
At NAMM 2025, it was formerly announced that Slingerland Drums are back and the brand was relaunched with a run of 400 limited edition drums, while only 50 of this snare were made in this unique colour and size combination.

Each drum is numbered and signed on the shell's inside by DW founder Don Lombardi, with an accompanying certificate of authenticity.

This Radio King Limited Edition Snare Drum is a faithful recreation of the legendary snare from the late 1930s and early 1940s, built to the exacting standards that made the original a favourite of drummers worldwide.

The Radio King snare celebrates craftsmanship, history, and sound while honouring its vintage legacy and was built using a steam-bent solid shell that’s shaped from a hand-selected, North American Maple plank.

True to the original design, the shell is cut with a 30-degree rounded bearing edge, providing greater contact between the head and the shell for a thick and buttery feel. This results in deep tonal warmth, full and punchy projection, and thick resonance with a dynamic frequency range.

The drum is fitted with period-correct, nickel-plated hardware that gives your new snare a striking onstage appeal while providing throwback vintage vibes.

One signature element of the Radio King profile is the 3-Point Strainer with Adjustable Snare Gates. The strainer gives you precise control over the engagement of extended snappy snare wires from airy and wide open to responsive and sharp.

Another timeless hardware feature is the legendary Nickel over Brass Stick Chopper hoops, which provide tight and crisp rimshots while controlling overtones. These fully Brass hoops were only available on this limited model and help make this snare a powerhouse onstage and in-studio.

Slingerland was originally born in Chicago, which gave them rapid access to the stockyards and calfskin heads that became a trademark sound. The Radio King Limited Snare shiped with a genuine calfskin batter head that offers warmth, sensitivity, and unique tonal complexity.

This drum is finished with the iconic Slingerland cloud badge, and is carried in a Radio King-branded, heavy-duty case.
