Slingerland 1960 Gene Krupa 1N Set

BACKGROUND:
I purchased this kit on May 11th, 2016 and as strange as it may seem, it was (for a second!) a difficult decision whether to purchase this set!

I had only recently obtained my very first Slingerland set, the 1959 outfit which was just stunning in sound and looks. However, out of the blue the opportunity to own not one, but two period Gene Krupa 1N sets in his trade mark White Marine Pearl, simply couldn't be passed up.

Therefore very regretfully, I had to let the 1959 go and it now resides in a recording studio which I am happy about.

Naturally, I cannot think of a better (one year!) newer Slingerland set to replace it with. Possibly as close to immaculate as a 56 year set could be with the only non original part being for a failed push button on a floor tom leg mount.

The set has an enormous sound and very different to my 1948-49 Slingerland Gene Krupa 1N with both very much having their own 'period' sound making them simply sublime to play.

I am on the lookout for a matching White Marine Pearl Chicago era badge (1959-1961) Gene Krupa Model Radio King snare with the 3 point strainer, so do please drop me a line if you have or know of one.

More images as a complete set will follow.
