BACKGROUND:
I purchased the set on January 24th, 2026.
As you may have realised, I have a sweet spot for vintage Slingerland sets, having now owned six that spanned the period 1942 – 1968.
While I already owned a wonderful immaculate 1968 Stage Band outfit, I had wanted a set with the larger bass drum and 15x12” floor tom and couldn’t resist this lovely 1964 set in an excellent condition Sparkling Champagne Pearl finish.
This set came to me from Atlanta, GA via a private collection owned by former 1990’s drum shop owner, Allan Myers.
He took this set in as part of a deal on “a high-end Pearl set” in back in 1997 and it had been a favourite in his private collection for the past 29 years, or in effect, around half the life of the set.
